DESCRIPTION:The Centre for Innovation in Carbon Capture and Storage ru
 n short courses to provide a fundamental understanding of carbon captu
 re and storage (CCS) for people with various background disciplines in
 cluding engineering, business and policy. Attendees are welcome from a
 ll sectors including consultancy, government and industry, and to all 
 with an interest in CCS and its future deployment.\n\nOur next short c
 ourse will take place on the 10th and 11th of November, with Day 1 pro
 viding overall cross-disciplinary introductory training in the topical
  field of CCS, and Day 2 providing further technical details in CCS te
 chnologies, risks and regulations.\n\nThis cross-disciplinary short co
 urse; recommended as a two day short course, with the option of attend
 ing one day only; provides training in the topical field of CCS, cover
 ing wide ranging topics and issues to further understand this expandin
 g climate change mitigation method. World leading experts speaking on 
 this course include: Bronwen Northmore, Head of Cleaner Fossil Fuels P
 olicy at the Department of Energy and Climate Change; Dr Andy Chadwick
 , Head of CO2 Storage Research at the British Geological Survey; Profe
 ssor Mercedes Maroto-Valer, Director of CICCS at the University of Not
 tingham; and Dr Ian Havercroft, Lead Researcher for the University Col
