Carbon Capture Journal

Carbon capture and storage - one of the most important engineering challenges

Mike Taylor

New organic, non-toxic, non-hazardous, strong base liquid developed for post CCS.

Highlights:
Captures CO2 at ambient temp. and pressure.
Liquid turns to crystalline structure within seconds, locking in CO2.
CO2 released at 80-85 degrees C (use of waste heat?). Capture is best at 35 degrees C. 50 degree window is therefore required.
We can pressure release the CO2. It self pressured on release to over 200psi (tested this week at the max. limit of our pressure bomb).
