Hey Yousef, Do you have any information about liability? Mostly topics covering leakage. Stephanie

I would love to see your work. I'm concentrating on geological sequestration and developing a legal framework that would be analogous to oil and gas laws in the US. This is just a proposal, and only for my thesis, but it would ably to liability…

Bipal, I am writing a thesis on CCS for a post doctorate degree in environmental law. From what I can deduce, the cap and trade (US) program will be fashioned like the acid rain program under the Clean Air Act (42 U.S.C. 7651. I'm mostly…

Thanks for sending that...great input and you and I are on the same page. I am not done with the thesis (ever so slowly)...I'm waiting to see what's going to happen with the new Admin. and the Stim. Package, and a few bills that have…

Yes, I know SDWA. It's in the thesis. I fashioned my proposal after O&G laws - to me it makes sense. Thanks for sending that, I appreciate it. By the way..thesis is still in the works. Thanks again. If you have any other input...I'm…

Thank you Janette, that is most helpful. I actually have a section on UIC in my thesis. If you run across anything else, let me know. I appreciate it!

This is a federally-funded project which was included in the Omnibus bill, and is not part of the DOE regional partnership funding, although DOE will serve as the grant administrator. The matching share will be funded by six Missouri utilities. Research partners include City Utilities, the Missouri Department of Natural Resources, Missouri State University, and Missouri University of Science & Technology. The project will assess shallow carbon sequestration in the Lamotte Formation. Anything else in particular you would like to know? Are you involved in a carbon sequestration project?

Dear Stephanie Moran, thats my pleasure to find nice and talent persons here.i think you shouldnt limit yourself on environmental law only.carbon trading laws can involve CO2 trading between CO2 producer comapnis(like power plants)and Oil operator and prducer companies too.even some nighber countires according to oil recovery.what do you think about those view pints.

Hi, Stephanie!

Ok, sure, if you have a questions I may answer (about sequestration simulation, not law issues please, I'm not very good in that) so you may e-mail me: torn (at) faruh (dot) com .
Meanwhile, I've uploaded some info on EPA regulations that may be useful for you (there're notes inside, so you wouldn't have to go through whole original documents if you don't have a time):

Andrii,
Thanks. I haven't tried it yet, but will do so in a few minutes. No worries about law questions, that part I can handle. I'm just trying to get a good grip on regulations and patterning them after oil and gas regimes. I don't know what's working right now - as far as insuring that the carbon is in place for 100 years, what happens when it escapes, who's liable, what type of escape plan is there? Lots of issues on this topic. I personally think it's not such a great idea, but my advisor likes it, so I'll keep plugging away at my thesis.

Thanks for the link!
